There's something irresistible about tools…whether banging a nail with a hammer that belonged to my Dad or trying out Catalyst™ wedges, a new tool for making marks on paper, canvas, clay and food. Brushes, scissors, palette knives, straight-edge rulers, x-acto® knives, brayers and paper-cutters are my go-to tools. But while making art or just tinkering, I like many more. I use wire cutters and pliers for wire projects and punches for handmade cards. Awaiting exploration are a new Gelli™ plate (for monoprinting), a craft drill (for making holes in almost anything), gougers (to make rubber stamps), and the Catalyst wedges. I also make my own mark-making tools and stencils and experiment with spray bottles and eyedroppers, among other things. My favorite tools: always my hands. |
